Welcome to Mr. Fedorov's Science TAKS Review

The science TAKS is broken up into 5 objectives (as highlighted to the left). Familiarizing yourself with the test is very important. On the left you will see a of navigation bar listing each objective. Each year the State of Texas releases a certain number of tests (those listed below) to help students study for the exam. I have further broke down these tests by objectives, and further topics, to help you study for the exam. Each topic has specific main ideas (which are listed below the topic).

Each objective has several sub-objectives (between 7 or 8 topics). The sub-objectives, which I call "topics," describe what the student is supposed to know for the test. For the entire test, a total of 36 topics are tested. As you work through the sections, be sure to understand what "topics" or main ideas are covered in each sub-objective. Furthermore, you will need to utilize the University of Texas' "TRACK" program to help you study for the exam. Each page has a link to the website.

As stated earlier, a total of 36 topics are tested. From these topics, 55 questions are created. (The TAKS test actually consists of 65 questions. 10 questions are not scored (pilot questions) and 55 questions are scored. You will not know which questions are pilot questions.) Because of the "misbalance" of test topics to numbers of questions asked, some tested are tested more heavily.

The exit level TAKS tests heavily on objective 1, 4 & 5 (39/55). You should focus your study there & study these sections hard! The biology section (objective 2 & 3) should be done last, as these sections have the fewest number of questions tested (16/55) and cover the broadest material, focusing heavily on definitions & terminology. Objectives containing stars (***) are most heavily tested for that objective. FOCUS YOUR STUDY ON THE STAR SECTIONS AS THESE ARE HEAVILY TESTED!!! The TAKS test, just like other tests, does have trends. I have spent hours studying those trends to help you pass the test. THE STARS REPRESENT THE HEAVILY TESTED TRENDS.

Here are the complete tests (undivided): July 2006 | April 2006 | February 2006 | Fall 2005 | October 2005 | July 2004 | April 2004 | Spring 2003 | These are the undivided tests. As you work through each objective (on the left), you will cover every single question listed on the released tests as you work through the topics. The TAKS test does repeat questions, so you will see the same question asked more than once. HINT HINT! Study these tests! They will help you. Good luck and let's get started by going to by creating an account on the UT Track Server. Click here to continue.
